Happy Hippie Barkery

Happy Hippie Barkery is more than a business—it’s a legacy.

Founder Kara Davis transformed personal battles into purpose, inspired by her American Bulldog LG, whose cancer journey revealed the urgent need for clean, nutritious treats for our pets.

Love, Resilience, and Unwavering Faith — LG's legacy.

Meet the Family

  • LG (Little Guy)

    LG (Little Guy)

Meet LG — the reason behind the recipe.

He started life as the runt, but he grew into a 115-lb gentle giant who inspired every batch. The Happy Hippie Barkery wouldn’t exist without him.

  • Zeba

    Zeba (Baking Partner)

Meet Zeba, the guardian of the kitchen.

Kara’s baking buddy and silent protector. After Kara developed adult seizures, Zeba never left her side — staying up until the last cookie cooled.

  • LG & Zeba (The Originals)

    LG & Zeba (The Originals)

LG brought the heart, Local brought the watchful calm, & together they shaped every treat with love. Now, they’ve passed the torch (& the treat jar) to Jax & Bentley, who proudly carry on the tradition.

  • Bentley (Puppy of the Family)

    Bentley (Puppy of the Family)

Now Bentley’s on the night shift—just 6 months old, already standing guard.

He’s learning fast, staying close, & always ready for a cookie check.

  • Jax

Jax (the lab who doesn’t do water)

And this is Jax — a stray turned family.

Zero interest in swimming, but he’s all in on treats, love, and carrying the barkery tradition forward.

  • Our Barkery Treats

    Our Barkery's Organic Treats

Every treat is made in honor of LG and Zeba — and taste-tested by Jax and Bentley.

Locally Grown: Stories & Seasonal Highlights

The Orchard at Cedar Creek

Stop by this longtime local favorite for seasonal fruit and East Texas hospitality.

If the owners are around, you might be offered a rare treat—like a homegrown chocolate cherry tomato, a rich, heirloom variety that rarely makes it to market but lives on through generous hands and neighborly tradition.

And if they’re not there, you’ll still find the stand open and stocked—just slip your payment into the honor box and enjoy the quiet kind of trust that’s hard to come by these days.

It’s more than a fruit stand—it’s a front porch kind of place, and if you haven’t been yet, consider this your invitation.
